Llanthony We are 5 miles from the medieval town of Monmouth and close to the beautiful Golden Valley and the rugged hills of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains .


Hay Festival Herefordshire and Monmouthshire have a fantastic selection of festivals, including Hay-on-Wye literary festival, Brecon Jazz plus an array of art, food and music festivals.


Tintern Abbey There are a wealth of activities to choose from - with the famous Offa’s Dyke, ancient monuments and magnificent border castles all close at hand.

The Rolls of Monmouth Play golf at the stunning Rolls of Monmouth club situated approximately a mile away or try the challenging Celtic Manor - hosts of the 2010 Ryder Cup.

Severn Bore March

There are many opportunities to see the Severn bore, but the above dates are the only 4-star tides this spring.

Big Apple May and October

A celebration of English cider and perry in the parishes of Marcle Ridge. Includes cider making and tasting with BBQs and jazz bands. Orchards in Blossom in April and a harvest celebration in October - a friendly atmosphere at a number of local orchards and cider makers...

Hay Festival May / June

Hay-on-Wye is a tiny market town in the Brecon Beacons National Park, It has 1500 people and 41 bookshops. The Festival is a spectacular party for fans of books, food, drink, comedy, music, art, argument and literature.
