Welcome!
Well, here we are. Twelve years after finding this derelict barn in the middle of this wonderful part of south east Wales.
We are very proud of the barn's eco credentials - ground source heat pump (underfloor heating), solar thermal and wood burner with back-boiler (hot water), bore hole (for our own water) and solar PV to generate electricity.
We finished the conversion in 2011 and each year we manage to find a few projects to make living here even better.
Best wishes
Stephen & Lizzie Lewis
THE HAYSHED
Your bolt-hole in the country ...
After 12 successful years of letting our holiday cottage we have decided to discontinue The Hayshed from the end of 2023
We would like to express our thanks to all the families who have stayed with us over the years and left us such wonderful messages in the visitors book.
Some of the last comments ...
We had a lovely stay in gorgeous surroundings, everything has been thought of that you need. - Stuart & Kate
What a wonderful few days! The Hayshed was a pure delight. Very well stocked kitchen, wonderful views and thank you for letting us ‘borrow’ it for a few days! - Nicky, Tracey & Gussy
This has been a perfect retreat, and the longest long weekend I can recall! I have made a promise to myself to come back in the Autumn, (if I can wait that long) - it will be lovely to see the trees on the turn. Oh well, back to reality now! Thank you for creating this place!- John & Sarah

There have been plenty of projects going on at Llan Adan through the Summer months. One of the early projects was the creation of a 'garden room' to catch the best of the late afternoon and evening sunshine. The perfect place to enjoy a glass of cool Marlborough Sauvingnon Blanc.
